UIA 2023 World Congress Copenhagen

Anne Mette Niebuhr, Chief Partnership Officer

‘Sustainable Futures – Leave No One Behind’ is the theme for an upcoming world congress facilitated by UIA 2023 World Congress Copenhagen. Their goal is to support professional discussions between architects and other city developers on how to solve the SDGs and achieve a sustainable future for all.

The congress, hosted in Copenhagen (Denmark), will provide a worldwide platform for architects and city developers – a platform which is now lacking. Besides supporting exchanges of research, knowledge, ideas and experience through activities and events, UIA2023CPH will shed light on important aspects of sustainable city development, such as renewable energy solutions, ensuring that these aspects are integrated in the developing process. It will also be assessed how to practically take the first steps of the sustainable city development projects.

European Green Cities supports the secretariat of the congress through counselling. As the theme of ‘Leaving no one behind’ includes women in sustainable city development projects, the congress contributes to the goal of the W4RES project: upscaling women’s involvement in accelerating market uptake of renewable energy sources.
