SINTEF was founded in 1950 and is a world-leading independent multidisciplinary research organization based in Trondheim (Norway) with international top-level expertise in the fields of technology, natural sciences, medicine and social sciences. SINTEF is participating in 10 out of the 12 EU Green Platform projects awarded funding in 2021- 2022. In the Green Deal, it is participating in projects that have attracted 17.5 percent of the EUR 1 billion in green funds the EU has made available. SINTEF is also focused heavily on exploring how it can use the EU taxonomy to strengthen its client offering in order to accelerate the transition to a sustainable society and is pleased to see that social conditions (equity and diversity) are being established as criteria in the taxonomy.
The webinar, organized by ECWT, will present SINTEF and sshowcase two leading female researchers from SINTEF in the field of RES and their research:
- Marie-Laure Fontaine has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at CIRIMAT in Toulouse focusing on porosity and composition-graded electrodes for SOFCs and is research manager of the group Thin Film and Membrane Technologies at SINTEF Industry since 2021. Her research activities focus on the development of electrochemical devices for sustainable technologies aiming at power, chemicals, and fuel production with CO2 capture. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the CIRIMAT at the University of Paul Sabatier in Toulouse in 2005 focusing on solid oxide fuel cells. She has since been working on gas separation membranes for the selective removal of CO2, H2, or O2, as well as proton ceramic-based cells and stacks for steam electrolysis and co-electrolysis. She is currently coordinating several European projects (WINNER, SUSTAINCELL) funded by Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
- Sigrid Lædre has a Master's Degree in industrial chemistry and biotechnology with a focus on material chemistry from NTNU in 2011. Ph.D. at the Institute of material science at NTNU with a focus on corrosion in PEM systems in 2016. Sigrid specializes in Renewable Energy Systems with a main focus on the production and use of hydrogen and ammonia in maritime systems.
The webinar will also highlight SINTEF´s Gender Equality Plan, their experience in the implementation of SINTEF´s DEIS-strategy, and it will also be the opportunity to provide some good advice to next-generation female researchers.
