A community energy source in the circular suburban villages

Coordinator of the project: Anastasiya Belak

Circular suburban village is an innovative visionary model for the development of independent environmentally friendly villages in the Slovak Republic in which resources are restorative and regenerative. The circular suburban village rethinks how we design, build, finance and share our future homes. The project connects four main cases: passive housing, community life, green energy and urban farming.

ECOGRID is a new company engaged in renewable energy systems design and realization, design and construction of car and bike charging stations, installation, reconstruction and maintenance of dedicated technical equipment.

Three business models will be used for the implementation of the energy community project. The first is a "Distribution-based business model for services", within which there will be cooperation with the developer, experts of new technologies for cooling and heating, water heater specialists, manufacturers of photovoltaic panels and wind turbines, manufacturers of chargers and others.

Within the framework of this mode, the following distribution of project outputs to the end customer - distributors will be created. The second and third type of business models will be the "Consulting business model" and "Direct-to-consumers business model" within which will be provided consulting services to developers for the realization of the community energy sources project. It will be able to directly provide services of electrical equipment and renewable energy systems design directly to the customers.

There are currently no companies that provide the services of community energy sources, there is no competition in the market.

W4RES partner, Energy Agency of Plovdiv, provides the following support measures:

  • calculation of the total assumed final target value of energy demand for the first stage in one developer project which include 36 houses with category A0,
  • calculation of the energy consumption/production with renewable energy systems for the first stage of developer project,
  • design of an additional source of energy production to cover the residual consumption.
